Castle Thoughts Re: Phone Calls
It is so crucial that Castle waits around for that phone call from Beckett — that she’s the one to initiate their daily reunions.
You know when you’re into someone and you end up pretty much involuntarily holding your breath until you get a phone call or a text or any signal from them? Castle gets this almost every morning from Beckett, and it really shows that she has the upper hand in the relationship. He’s literally waiting on her beck and call.
BUT — HOW EXCITING must it be for Beckett to be able to make that simple phone call to Castle each day? We know how giddy Castle gets when his phone rings, but we rarely, if ever, get to see Beckett’s side of the conversation. Beckett finding out there’s a new case; Beckett excitedly reaching for her phone to call Castle — not just because there’s work to be done, but because she loves him. Because she can’t wait to speak to him again, if only to say, “Dead body.”

Castle: You keep looking at me like I’m crazy for believing in him, but that’s just because you don’t know him.
Beckett: Castle, neither do you. The Damien that you think you know doesn’t exist. You made him up. Just like you made up Derrick Storm. Just like you made up Nikki Heat. He’s a character in a story that you told yourself.
Ouch.
